Frequently Asked Questions
Mota is a professional vehicle marketing service designed to help FSBO (For Sale by Owner) individuals, also known as Private Party, to optimally sell their vehicle(s) online.
How does Mota work?
Sellers register online via www.mota.net. During the quick registration process, we ask you for your basic vehicle' information, including mileage, condition and options.
Then we will ask you a few questions about your ownership experience, including service history and usage.
For our paid packages, we also include the following:
- The option to record a personalized voice clip to include with your online brochure.
- Coordinating the dispatching of a certification professional who will come to your home or office, at a time of your choosing, to photograph and draw up a fair assessment of your vehicle. We include this report in your online brochure, along with your answers to our questions.
- Insert this brochure into multiple online marketplaces
- Field all buyer email/phone inquiries on your behalf. When we have an interested buyer, we assist in coordinating a test drive or the conclusion of the sale itself.
Is Mota a dealership?
Mota is not a dealership in that we don’t maintain a physical lot, however we are a certified consignment dealer for those who purchase our Concierge package. This certification allows us to fully manage the process of selling their cars on their behalf.
For each of our other FSBO (For Sale by Owner) customer, we provide the tools to allow Private Party individuals to professionally market their vehicles online. This is accomplished via:
- Increasing trust (Third party certification)
- Compilation of a Comprehensive Auto Report (a thorough aggregation of data specific to your vehicle)
- Efficient advertising methods (multiple concurrent online listings on eBay Motors, Cars.com, Craigslist, GoogleBase and others)
Can I see this vehicle before I buy it?
Yes. Though Mota provides a very comprehensive report on the vehicles it advertises, some individuals prefer to see it in person. We can also assist you in contacting the seller and arranging a test drive. We can even assist in connecting you with our vehicle transportation partners.
What if I don't have financing?
We'll try to find it for you. We have access to a wide base of financial institutions to find the best finance rates for you.
What is your dispute resolution policy?
Mota itself will not directly insert itself into dispute mediation situations, but we strongly recommend the services of our trusted partner Escrow.com to mediate any dispute related to material misrepresentation of the vehicle. If both parties elect to handle the transaction's conclusion on their own, it is no different than if they had listed it themselves.
How do I reach your support line?
