Know Yourself
To begin the process, focus on the following questions. Keep the answers you decide upon at the front of your mind as you go deeper into the car buying process.
1. What is your budget range for buying the car? What is the absolute maximum you can spend?
Look at your financial situation closely before you look at your first car that way you wont spend more than you can afford if you fall in love with a car thats out of your range. Whatever you do, don't spend more than you can afford!
2. Based on your driving needs, what type of car are you in the market for? Before you consider what make and model to buy, decide whether or not you need a compact, sedan or SUV, a two door, a four door or hatchback, etc.
What are your fuel-efficiency needs? How many bells and whistles type features do you need vs. how many you can afford?
3. How long do you plan to keep the car you have in mind?
